Cool Trick for Visually Impaired iPad Users
Today, I was noticing a coworker who is visually impaired but not 100% VI struggling to read a comic someone left out on a desk. He has to use a special magnifying glass to see anything like newsprint, and it takes him a while to go through something like newsprint.
As I was watching him today, I thought about how using an iPad might be able to help him. I grabbed an iPad, turned on the camera, and zoomed in on what he was reading.

I asked him if this was as good as reading with the magnifying glass. He said it was much better, and was great idea!
Below are some screen shots from the iPad as I zoomed in on the comic.

As you can see, when you zoom in, you can get quite close to text on a fairy large screen.
So when you think about it, the iPad in this case becomes a 10 inch monitor for reading.
Throw in a stand for holding both the reading material and the iPad, and you have a permanent solution for SOME people with visual issues.
Here is how to make a document stand for cheap:
What do you think? Good idea?
