Here is what happens when you tell a group of kids that have never seen iMovie before: Make a movie. No previous knowledge of either the cameras or the software. Within minutes; magic. Collaborative real learning.  No one had to do professional development on the 21st century skills. It just happened. 
This was a Saturday workshop. They didn’t have to be there. They came with their teacher to learn how to make movies. They didn’t make a master piece, but they made the first real movie in their lives. 
Anyone tells you that there is no transformative power of technology in learning, show them this picture.
